Why Lard? 
Lard makes a superior soap product that is gentle on your skin. It leaves your skin healthy and whole while cleaning away the dirt and grime of the day. This is perfect for those with sensitive skin which is irritated by commercially produced products. Lard is pork fat that has been separated from the meat. A pig's makeup is very similar to humans, so it makes sense that the fat rendered from them will hydrate and replenish human skin better than plant oils or oils from other animals.

Why Cow Milk? 
This was an accidental discovery. We had a milk cow for personal consumption and one day I had an excess milk. I thought if goat milk made good soap, why not cow milk? Turns out, raw cow milk helps restore and tone skin. 

Soap is made when lye and a fat are combined in a chemical reaction called soapification. The soap is ready for use after a curing period.

We use essential oils where we can and high quality fragrance oils where essential oils are not available. What's the difference?

Essential oils retain a benefit from the parent is was derived from. A fragrance oil has no benefit other than smelling nice. Its ok to have a nice smelling soap! The difference is best illustrated like this: lavender essential oil has antimicrobial properties, is anti-inflammatory, and helps rid the body of toxins. It also promotes relaxation and calmness. A lavender fragrance oil may help with relaxation, but beyond smelling nice, it has no other medical properties.
